Born to Nawabuddin Siddiqui (farmer) and Mehroonisha Siddiqui into a zamindari Muslim family of Lambardars in Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on 19 May 1974.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has completed his elementary schooling from his village school and went to Haridwar to complete his Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Gurukul Kangri Viswavidyalaya, Haridwar. Later he went to join the National School of Drama and completed his graduation in 1999.

Siddiqui made his debut with the small roll in the Aamir Khan Starer “ Sarfarosh” in 1999. However, he came to fame from his role in Anurag Kashyap’s Multi Starer Crime Drama Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).

Famous for: Siddiqui is famous for playing the role of Faisal Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur II (2012), he played lead antagonist Shiv Gajra, in the blockbuster Kick (2014). In 2015, Siddiqui's films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manjhi - The Mountain Man were released, and he was praised for his roles.

Siddiqui awarded the Special Jury Award at the 2012 National Film Awards and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013.
